Trim Levels (Exterior)

The entry-level Palisade is the SE. It comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, and proximity key entry. The SEL adds a hands-free liftgate and roof rails, and offers the Premium Package with 20-inch wheels, a self-leveling rear suspension, and a sunroof. The XRT is up next in the lineup with unique 20-inch wheels, front and rear skid plates, an XRT-specific exterior trim, a sunroof, and black roof rails. Choose the Limited for a dual-pane sunroof or the Calligraphy for a unique grille and upgraded wheels.

Engine (Power)

All Palisade models get power from the same engine. The 3.8-liter V-6 generates 291 horsepower and delivers 262 pound-feet of torque. It works with Hyundai's eight-speed automatic transmission, and power goes to the front wheels. All-wheel drive is optional for any trim.

Performance

The Palisade is a comfortable family cruiser whether you're on the highway or staying in town. The V-6 easily propels the mid-size SUV up to 60 mph and provides plenty of passing power. Drivers will appreciate the easy handling and how composed it stays when taking tight corners. When equipped with a tow package, it can pull up to 5,000 pounds.

Interior

Inside, there's room for up to eight in the Palisade's three rows, but you can reduce this to seven by opting for the second-row captain's chairs. The entry-level SE starts you off with cloth upholstery and a height-adjustable driver's seat, but stepping up to the SEL adds simulated leather upholstery, heated front seats, and power-adjustable front seats. You can add to this with the Premium Package, which comes with driver's seat memory settings, heated rear seats, and a cabin intercom system. The Limited has all these options and upgrades to leather upholstery, and the Calligraphy has a massaging driver's seat. A 12.3-inch touch screen comes standard in the Palisade. You also get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB ports in the first two rows, and navigation. Wireless charging comes in the SEL and above, and you can also get a 115-volt power outlet, a 12-speaker stereo, and third-row USB ports.

Safety Features

Every 2023 Palisade has a forward collision mitigation system, lane-keep assist, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. A 360-degree surround-view camera system comes with the Premium Package and higher trims, and these also get a blind-spot camera that shows an image of the blind spot when you activate the turn signal. A head-up display comes in the Limited, and the Calligraphy adds Smart Parking Assist. This allows the driver to use their smartphone to remotely park the vehicle.
