2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5
The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 represents a bold step forward in electric vehicle design. Hyundai has merged retro-inspired aesthetics with cutting-edge technology. This innovative crossover SUV combines striking visual elements with practical functionality, creating an electric vehicle that stands out in today's competitive market.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 has five trims — the SE Standard Range, SE, SEL, XRT, and Limited. A refreshed design for 2025 brings updated front and rear bumpers across all models, a slightly larger rear spoiler, and a new rear windshield wiper for improved visibility. The distinctive V-shaped front bumper has hidden lights, and 256 pixel-inspired LED headlamps create a unique lighting signature.
The new XRT trim adds rugged capability with a 0.9-inch suspension lift, improving the approach angle to 19.8 degrees and departure angle to 30 degrees. This adventure-ready model features unique bumper designs and all-terrain tires. The Limited trim has available 21-inch alloy wheels that create an upscale appearance. The IONIQ 5’s wheelbase is 118.1 inches, with an overall length of 182.5 inches. It's 74.4 inches wide and 63 inches high, maintaining balanced proportions that maximize interior space while remaining easy to maneuver.
Engine (Power)
Several powertrain configurations provide options for different driving needs. The SE Standard Range features a single motor producing 168 horsepower, paired with a 63-kilowatt-hour battery pack. The SE, SEL, XRT, and Limited RWD trims bring a more powerful single motor delivering 225 horsepower, matched with an 84-kilowatt-hour long-range battery pack. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, available on SE, SEL, XRT, and Limited trims, generates 320 horsepower for maximum performance.
Performance
The dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, and the single-motor rear-wheel drive version completes the same sprint in 7.4 seconds. Both variants maintain a top speed of 117 mph. The long-range rear-wheel drive model achieves up to 318 miles of range, while the standard-range battery delivers 245 miles.
Ultra-fast charging capabilities allow the IONIQ 5 to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes using a 350-kilowatt direct current fast charger. This rapid charging system can add roughly 68 miles of range in just five minutes, making long-distance travel more convenient.
Interior
A spacious cabin design with 103 cubic feet of passenger volume and 28 cubic feet of cargo space maximizes comfort and functionality. Dual 12-inch displays handle instrument cluster and infotainment duties, creating a seamless digital experience. The 2025 model introduces several interior refinements, including a relocated wireless phone charging pad on the top panel of the center console and a new bank of buttons for quick access to heated seats and steering wheel controls.
The Limited trim adds premium features such as a sliding center console and front seats with footrests. The flat floor design creates additional legroom and storage options throughout the cabin due to the dedicated electric vehicle platform.
Safety Features
Advanced driver-assistance systems form a comprehensive safety package. An improved lane-keeping assist system and a new side-impact collision avoidance feature are standard across all trims. The Limited trim introduces Highway Driving Assist 2, which combines adaptive cruise control with advanced lane centering for more assured highway driving.
Additional safety features include a 360-degree camera system on the Limited trim, ensuring clear visibility during parking maneuvers. Evasive steering assist helps prevent potential collisions, while Remote Smart Parking Assist II facilitates convenient parking in tight spaces.
