No one wants to drive in the heat of summer with a car AC not working. Fortunately, in Heath, OH, your Hyundai dealer is here to help you. We can fix any AC problem. These are a few signs your AC is on the fritz. more Car AC Not Working? Visit Your Hyundai Dealer Today The Floor Is Wet The evaporator draws heat and humidity out of your cabin before the air is chilled. This process generates water, and the water must be drained from your car. Water collects in the evaporator heater box and then runs down the rubber drain hose and onto the ground underneath your car. This is the source of the water you see underneath parked cars in summer. The drain hose can become blocked by debris or even bacteria growth. If the hose is blocked, the water level in the heater box will rise and eventually overflow. The heater box is positioned just in front of the passenger side of your car. Leaking water will spill onto the passenger side carpet. Our technicians will clean the carpet and replace the drain hose to fix the problem. Refrigerant Leak The refrigerant gas chills the air in your AC. It circulates through the system and changes between gas and liquid states. The AC system is closed, and a lack of refrigerant can only be due to a leak somewhere in the system. Over time, parts can get damaged, or seals can wear, and refrigerant will escape. There's no obvious sign of escaping refrigerant, but you'll feel your AC is becoming noticeably warmer. We can check your refrigerant level, and if it's low we'll search for the leak. Refrigerant is almost invisible as liquid and invisible as gas. To find the source of the leak, we feed a UV dye into the AC system. Our technicians use a special UV viewer to trace its progress till we see the leak. Once we've found the hole, we'll repair it and replace the refrigerant. No Airflow Air is drawn into your AC system via a vent just underneath your windshield. The air is then chilled and blown into your cabin. If you turn on the AC and there's no airflow, the problem could be a blockage in the system or damage to part of the AC, the external vent could be blocked by leaves, dirt, or other debris and this prevents airflow in the AC. Another option is the blower motor could have failed. This motor is responsible for blowing air into your cabin. If the motor fails, there's no airflow.
