Is Your Hyundai's Car AC Not Working? Visit Your Dealer

No one wants to drive in the heat of summer with a car AC not working. Fortunately, in Heath, OH, your Hyundai dealer is here to help you. We can fix any AC problem. These are a few signs your AC is on the fritz. more Car AC Not Working? Visit Your Hyundai Dealer Today The Floor Is Wet The evaporator draws heat and humidity out of your cabin before the air is chilled. This process generates water, and the water must be drained from your car. Water collects in the evaporator heater box and then runs down the rubber drain hose and onto the ground underneath your car. This is the source of the water you see underneath parked cars in summer. The drain hose can become blocked by debris or even bacteria growth. If the hose is blocked, the water level in the heater box will rise and eventually overflow. The heater box is positioned just in front of the passenger side of your car. Leaking water will spill onto the passenger side carpet. Our technicians will clean the carpet and replace the drain hose to fix the problem. Refrigerant Leak The refrigerant gas chills the air in your AC. It circulates through the system and changes between gas and liquid states. The AC system is closed, and a lack of refrigerant can only be due to a leak somewhere in the system. Over time, parts can get damaged, or seals can wear, and refrigerant will escape. There's no obvious sign of escaping refrigerant, but you'll feel your AC is becoming noticeably warmer. We can check your refrigerant level, and if it's low we'll search for the leak. Refrigerant is almost invisible as liquid and invisible as gas. To find the source of the leak, we feed a UV dye into the AC system. Our technicians use a special UV viewer to trace its progress till we see the leak. Once we've found the hole, we'll repair it and replace the refrigerant. No Airflow Air is drawn into your AC system via a vent just underneath your windshield. The air is then chilled and blown into your cabin. If you turn on the AC and there's no airflow, the problem could be a blockage in the system or damage to part of the AC, the external vent could be blocked by leaves, dirt, or other debris and this prevents airflow in the AC. Another option is the blower motor could have failed. This motor is responsible for blowing air into your cabin. If the motor fails, there's no airflow. We'll need to check your AC, and once we've found the problem, we'll repair it right away. Call us today at Coughlin Hyundai of Heath, and we'll have your AC problem fixed in no time.

Does Your Hyundai Need a Transmission Repair?

Transmission problems are a nightmare for any driver. Most drivers believe that any transmission problem is expensive and time-consuming to fix. Your transmission, however, will always show signs it's in trouble. The sooner your Hyundai dealer can perform a transmission repair, the cheaper and easier the problem is to fix. These are a few of the signs of transmission problems. more Signs You Need a Transmission Repair at Your Hyundai Dealer Burning Rubber Smell Burning rubber is an awful smell. It's even worse if it's coming from your transmission. The smell means that you have burnt transmission fluid. Transmission fluid circulates through your transmission and provides several major benefits. The fluid produces the hydraulic power used to shift your transmission's gears. It also lubricates and provides a friction-resistant coating on all the transmission components. Transmission fluid needs to be replaced regularly according to your car's service schedule. The older fluid becomes thicker and sluggish and loses its heat-resistant properties. The transmission heat can cause the fluid to burn, and burnt fluid doesn't provide hydraulic power for your gears. We'll flush your transmission to remove the burnt fluid and then refill it. Buzzing Noises A strange buzzing sound from your transmission is a clue that all is not well. Your transmission shouldn't make a sound as it shifts, so any noise represents a possible problem. When this noise starts, it's almost imperceptible. As time passes, it will become louder and can turn into an annoying whining or humming noise. There are several possible causes for the sounds, but the most common is a lack of transmission fluid. Transmission fluid, as we've seen, performs a variety of functions. It also operates in a closed-loop system. A lack of fluid is a clear sign that your transmission leaks. Fluid can leak from the transmission pan, the transmission gasket, or a damaged transmission casing. Our technicians will find the cause of the leak and repair it. Slipping Gears A well-maintained transmission will shift only on the instructions of your transmission computer. The transmission will stay in its assigned gear until the computer shifts it again. Gear slipping is very dangerous as your transmission will shift gears without warning. Unexpectedly, your transmission will move into its previous gear. It could, for example, shift from drive to park without warning. The sudden forced movement of the gears can cause damage to the gear teeth and other transmission components. The unexpected shifting also means you don't have control over your car. If this happens, we advise stopping ASAP and calling our service department. Our highly-trained technicians will investigate the problem and repair it. If your transmission shows signs of a problem, call us immediately at Coughlin Hyundai of Heath.
