Engine problems can occur due to damaged components, lack of maintenance, or even aged components. As your Hyundai dealer in Heath, OH, we can fix any of these problems for you. These are a few of the problems we can fix.

Oil Leaks

We all know how important oil is for an engine. Your Hyundai engine contains a multitude of components, many of which depend on friction to work effectively. Over time, constant friction will cause these parts to wear out faster unless they’re protected. Engine oil lubricates these components and protects them against excessive damage. Modern engine oils also reduce the chance of blockages in your engine and protect it against rust.

The oil can icon on your dash will illuminate if your engine is short of oil. Under normal operating conditions, some oil is consumed by your engine as it works. If your oil has been recently checked, this illuminated warning light could mean you have an oil leak. If oil leaks into your engine, you’ll usually see its presence in blue-tinged smoke from the tailpipe. An external leak can be easily seen as a puddle underneath your car. We’ll trace and repair the leak, and then refill your oil.

Damaged Engine Mounts

Your engine produces large amounts of power. It produces so much power that it has to be secured to the car body to prevent it from suffering damage. In addition, the engine components have to be protected against bumps or jolts as you drive. Two liquid-filled rubber engine mounts anchor the engine securely and protect it from damage. The liquid in the mounts acts as a shock absorber to prevent damage to any components.

In time, engine mounts can become damaged like any other component. The heat and constant stresses put on the mounts can cause cracks in the rubber, and the liquid can leak out. Without a liquid shock absorber, you’ll hear thuds from the engine if you drive over uneven terrain. The engine can break free, but its components will suffer additional damage. We can replace one or both engine mounts to correct this problem.

Stalling

This problem usually occurs due to a combustion issue in the engine. Combustion is the correctly timed ignition of a fuel-air mixture in an engine cylinder. This carefully controlled explosion is generated by each cylinder on a carefully timed and continual basis to produce the energy that moves your car.

Your engine will stall if the process above is interrupted. Stalling can be caused by dirty spark plugs, a high fuel-to-air ratio in your engine, or even electrical problems. It can also be caused by a worn transmission refusing to shift gears. We’ll examine your car to identify and repair the problem.
